School poster competition

Join in with Greener Footprints Week and win £250 for your school!

Primary schools across Herefordshire are invited to join in with Greener Footprints week (part of the Great Big Green Week) by entering our poster competition. Closing date EXTENDED until 21st June 2023.

The theme of the competition is ‘Our Herefordshire, Our Planet’ and invites primary school students to create a poster to celebrate our wonderful natural environment. Posters could also be designed to educate/inspire others on actions that can be taken to look after the county and the planet.

Students might choose to create a poster that illustrates how to make the most of resources, that celebrates the diverse wildlife in Herefordshire, or that demonstrates environmentally friendly action. Such as a how-to on an up-cycling project, a natural feature unique to Herefordshire, or an example of a wildlife friendly garden. Designs should be completed using a footprint outline, and you can draw your own or download a template from the right of this page.

Submissions will be split into three age categories:

Category / Age
Early years / 3-5 (Nursery/Reception)
Infant / 5-8 (Year 1 - Year 3)
Junior / 8-11 (Year 4 - Year 6)

A prize of £250 will be awarded to the school of the winning poster in each age group, to be used towards the school’s own environmental project!
