Citizens' Climate Assembly

Tuesday 1 February 2022 8.46am

The Citizens’ Climate Assembly met in January to help shape how Herefordshire Council meets the challenges of climate change.

The Citizens’ Climate Assembly brought together a randomly selected group of people who broadly represented the entire community.  The assembly supported a range of voices from different walks of life to contribute to decision making and in turn contribute to democracy.

At the sessions held in January the Assembly heard from expert speakers, discussed the issues involved and then decided together what steps should be taken.

The recommendations from the Assembly will be used to influence council policy and spending priorities to help Herefordshire become a zero-carbon nature-rich county by 2030.
