Climate Action Plans Webinar for Herefordshire Schools
Wednesday 18 September 2024 3.20pm
Herefordshire Council’s Sustainability and Climate Change Team is working in partnership with ‘Let’s go Zero’ to hold a free webinar for schools on Friday 18 October from 3.45pm – 4.30pm, aiming to help schools ‘Get started with their school climate action plan’.
As a key initiative in their ‘Sustainability and climate change strategy for education’, the Department for Education has stated that “By 2025, all education settings will have nominated a sustainability lead and put in place a climate action plan”. This will include early years settings, schools, multi-academy trusts, colleges, and universities.
Many schools across the county are already taking action on climate. This short webinar will offer an opportunity to find out about Climate Action Plans and explore what free support is available.
The webinar will be led by Rosie Pincott, Lets Go Zero's Climate Action adviser for Herefordshire. Rosie will explain what your school needs to do to complete the Action Plan and how she can support you.
Let’s Go Zero is the national campaign uniting teachers, pupils, parents and their schools as they all work together to be zero carbon by 2030. Climate action advisors are independent experts who offer free support for schools supporting them to understand their carbon impact, make effective plans, and find funding and resources.
