Upcoming - FREE farm carbon workshop
Thursday 19 September 2024 3.18pm
Planned for Thursday 3rd October as part of the Herefordshire Council project supporting the county’s farmers to reduce on-farm emissions.
Forming part of the action plan put forward by the farming subgroup of the Climate and Nature Partnership Board, the project is the result of true collaboration. Over 40 Herefordshire farms have now received a Farm Carbon Audit, thanks to the support from Herefordshire Council.
The service has been provided by consultants 4R Reassurance, who have been giving one to one support and advice to help farm businesses understand their on-farm carbon emissions and identify areas for improvement.
Complimented with free workshops, of which this is the second, the project offers farmers the opportunity to gain an insight into the relationship between farm carbon, productivity, and finance. You can catch up on the content of the first workshop here.
Covering on-farm composting and understanding soil and manure analysis the upcoming workshop will focus on how to evaluate soil fertility, nutrient content, and condition, and producing high quality soil amendment on site.
Talks will be presented by our host, Ben Taylor-Davies (RegenBen), and Technical Director of 4R Group, Paul Whyatt. To register your interest in attending the workshop and for more details, please email climate@herefordshire.gov.uk
