Nature Recovery Mapping in Herefordshire - webinar recording from Wednesday 22 January 2025 now available.
The recent webinar, held for Town and Parish Councils in Herefordshire sought to describe the mapping process, answers some key questions, and explain how to feed back on the draft map including how to report discrepancies.
Part of the national Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS), Herefordshire Council has published a draft map identifying areas throughout the county that are a priority for nature recovery.
Local knowledge and involvement will be essential to the success of the strategy, which aims to address the need for existing wildlife sites to be bigger, better, and more joined up.
Herefordshire Council are seeking feedback on the map and it's current designations, and will looking to amend the map based on the feedback received.
Whilst the Council are seeking feedback from parish councils wherever possible, the mapping is countywide, highlighting key corridors. The feedback provided therefore does not necessarily need to be at field scale. Herefordshire Council are not wishing to place an onerous burden on councils and their representatives, so appreciate any level of response they are able to give.
