Calculating my carbon footprint
Your carbon footprint is the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere as a result of things you do. We all have a carbon footprint, and it includes almost everything - from the food we eat, to the clothes we wear, to the energy we use, and the holidays we take.
Measuring your carbon footprint doesn't take long, and can be really interesting. It's a great first step to reducing your emissions, as you'll be able to see where you can really make a difference.
There are lots of different websites available to enable you to calculate your carbon footprint. One of the websites we'd recommend is carbonfootprint.com and their free online calculator. You'll need to have an energy bill handy before you start so you can input your household energy usage.
